Judgment Day: The 3 Crucial Questions Jesus Will Ask Every Person
Every person will one day stand before Jesus Christ, not as a teacher, but as a righteous judge. This isn’t a theory; it’s a guaranteed appointment, as stated in Hebrews 9:27. Your answers to three specific questions will determine your eternal fate.
This is the most critical truth you’ll ever encounter. Before we dive in, let’s understand the gravity of this moment. Judgment Day is a real, unavoidable appointment for every human being, as Romans 14:10-12 confirms. No one is exempt. The Bible says we will all “give an account of ourselves to God.” This is a day when all pretense falls away, and the true state of your heart is revealed.
Question 1: What Did You Do With My Son?

The first question is the most personal and foundational: “What did you do with my Son?” It’s not about church attendance or good deeds; it’s about your relationship with Jesus Christ.
John 3:18 is clear: “Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already.” There is no middle ground. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”
When Jesus asks this, He’s asking: “Did you receive Me as your Savior? Did you trust in My sacrifice on the cross?”
Let’s look at three common responses:
- “I tried to be a good person.” Jesus’s response: “Your good works, no matter how sincere, could never pay the debt of your sin. Only My perfect blood can cleanse you.” Ephesians 2:8-9 states that salvation is “not a result of works.” No one is “good enough” by God’s standard.
- “I was very religious.” Jesus’s response: “You knew about Me, but you didn’t truly know Me.” This is the heartbreaking scenario in Matthew 7:22-23, where people who did many things in His name are told, “I never knew you.” Christian activity is meaningless without a genuine, personal relationship with Christ.
- “I received You as my Savior.” This is the answer that brings joy to heaven. This person humbly acknowledged their sin and placed their complete faith in Jesus alone. Jesus’s response: “Well done, good and faithful servant! Enter into the joy of your Lord.” (Matthew 25:21).
What would your honest answer be? If it’s shaky or uncertain, the good news is you still have time. The invitation to receive Christ is open.
Question 2: What Did You Do With What I Gave You?

Once the question of salvation is settled, Jesus asks a second crucial question about stewardship: “What did you do with what I gave you?”
Everything you have—your time, talents, money, influence—is a gift from God. The question is whether you used these gifts for His glory.
In the Parable of the Talents (Matthew 25:14-30), Jesus tells of a master who entrusts money to his servants. The servants who invested and multiplied their funds were rewarded. The one who simply buried his was condemned. God doesn’t measure you against others; He only asks what you did with what He gave you.
Your motives are paramount. Were you building His Kingdom or your own? Were you seeking human praise or serving faithfully in secret? God sees beyond the outward deed to the heart behind it.
You can “bury” your gifts out of fear, laziness, or selfishness. On Judgment Day, there will be no valid excuses. God isn’t looking for dazzling displays; He’s looking for quiet faithfulness.
Are you multiplying what God has entrusted to you, or are you burying it? You don’t need a massive platform to be faithful.
Question 3: How Did You Treat My Little Ones?

The final question is about the essence of compassion: “How did you treat my little ones?” This strikes at the heart of how much of God’s love truly lived within you.
In Matthew 25:31-46, Jesus describes the final judgment, separating people “like a shepherd dividing his sheep from the goats.” To the righteous, He says, “Come… For I was hungry and you gave me food… whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did it to me.” Jesus personally identifies with the vulnerable and marginalized.
This shows that love for God is proven by love for others (1 John 4:20). You cannot claim to love a God you can’t see if you are indifferent to people you can see.
Who are these “little ones”? They are the orphans, widows, immigrants, prisoners, the sick, and the rejected. Jesus isn’t just asking if you contributed to a charity; He’s asking if you gave your heart. True love is costly and active.
Jesus isn’t impressed by your knowledge; He’s impressed by the depth of your love. He’s not counting church services but how many lives you genuinely touched. On that day, the ultimate division will be between those who demonstrated their love for Him by loving others and those who did not.
A Moment of Honest Reflection
Can you answer these three questions with confidence?
- Have you truly received Jesus as your personal Savior?
- Have you faithfully used what He gave you?
- Have you actively loved “the least of these”?
If your answers are a resounding “yes,” press on.
If your heart hesitates, the glorious news is that Jesus is still calling you. It is never too late. Grace is greater than guilt.
If you are ready to say “yes” to Jesus, I invite you to pray:
“Lord Jesus, I am a sinner. I believe You died for my sins and rose again. I receive You as my Savior and Lord. Forgive me, cleanse me, and make me Yours. Amen.”
If you prayed this sincerely, heaven is rejoicing. Your life now belongs to Him.
